Placing a google map into an article requires that you use the JCE editor or no editor. Select the editor to use at the lower right of your text editor window.
Once you have an editor that will not strip the javascript map code from the article, simply click on the "insert google map" button in the button bar below your editor window.
Notes on the insert map dialog:
- You must set the controls on the controls tab to default or there will be no scroll, pan, etc. controls on the map.
- Use the google search bar at the lower left of the map dialog to find locations by address. Seperate your City and State with commas.
- The markers tab will create markers with pop up balloons for information. right click on a location and select "add marker". You can then edit the marker created to add the info balloon and other options.
- The route tab provides a handy way to direct visitors to your location from Route 66. Simply type in a location along route 66 (example: Santa Rosa, New Mexico) as the start point and your address as the destination
